Your agent.
Your editor.
A free MCP server that lets the AI agent you already use drive Unity, Roblox Studio and Blender: run code, edit scripts, read the console, take screenshots and playtest. Plus a remote connector for ChatGPT and Claude.
Updated 30 October 2026
Short answer. The Synagy MCP server is a free program that runs on your computer. Install it once, register it in Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Antigravity or Hermes, and that agent gets 35 tools for Unity, Roblox Studio and Blender. Your agent does the thinking at your AI provider, so no Synagy credits are used. Synagy is a beta.
Your own agent drives Unity, Roblox Studio and Blender
The agent starts the server over stdio. The server talks to a small plugin in your editor over 127.0.0.1 on your computer, so the project does not leave your machine. This path is free and uses no Synagy credits.
Not the same thing. The Synagy window inside Unity or Roblox Studio is Synagy’s own cloud agent: it plans with a price in credits and builds for you. It is not an MCP feature and not part of Claude Code. This section is only about your own agent. Read about the window on Unity and Roblox.
1. Get the server
You need Node.js. Download synagy-mcp.mjs, save it as ~/.synagy/synagy-mcp.mjs (Windows: %USERPROFILE%\.synagy\synagy-mcp.mjs) and compare its SHA-256 with the value in the download manifest before you run it.
mkdir -p ~/.synagy && curl -fL https://synagy.org/downloads/synagy-mcp.mjs -o ~/.synagy/synagy-mcp.mjs
shasum -a 256 ~/.synagy/synagy-mcp.mjs
2. Register it with your agent
Replace the path with the absolute path of the file. The editor plugins come next: the quickest way is the setup prompt, which your agent follows step by step. Open it from the Unity or Roblox install section after you sign in. Blender and Unreal are set up the same way from the Synagy section in the studio.
Claude Code
One command, then restart Claude Code.
claude mcp add synagy --scope user -- node <absolute path to synagy-mcp.mjs>Codex
Add to ~/.codex/config.toml. The long timeout is for Unity compiles.
[mcp_servers.synagy]
command = "node"
args = ["<absolute path to synagy-mcp.mjs>"]
tool_timeout_sec = 1800Cursor
Add to ~/.cursor/mcp.json, then switch it on in Cursor Settings > MCP.
{

}
}
}Antigravity
Add to ~/.gemini/antigravity/mcp_config.json and refresh the MCP servers.
{
"mcpServers": {
"synagy": {
"command": "node",
"args": [

}
}Hermes
One command, then /reload-mcp.
echo y | hermes mcp add synagy --command node --args <absolute path to synagy-mcp.mjs>3. One-minute test
With Unity, Roblox Studio or Blender open and the plugin installed, paste this into your agent. It should create an object, find it again, show you a picture and clean up after itself.
Use the synagy MCP server: create a cube named "Synagy Hello" with engine_run, confirm it with engine_scene, show me engine_screenshot, then delete the cube again.
In Roblox Studio, ask for an anchored Part named “SynagyHello” in Workspace instead of a cube. If nothing connects, ask the agent to run engine_status: it names the missing step.
What your agent gets
The editors in this beta: Unity 6 (tested on 6000.0, 6000.3 and 6000.6), Roblox Studio (tested on 0.741, still young on Windows and macOS), Blender 4.2 or newer (tested on 5.2). Unreal Engine 5 is a preview that we have not yet verified inside the editor.

How it compares to other MCP servers
Facts below were checked on 30 October 2026 and come from the linked pages. Star counts and tool counts change; follow the links for the current numbers. Where another server does something better, we say so.
| Server | Cost and setup | What it offers | Where it is stronger | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Roblox Studio built-in MCP Roblox | Free, built into Studio. Roblox warns to connect only clients you trust. | 26 tools. Includes AI mesh, material and procedural-model generation, keyboard and mouse input simulation, screenshots, asset search, and a studio_id on every call. | Generation and input simulation, which Synagy does not have. It needs no install. | Roblox docs |
| Unity AI MCP Unity | Unity 6+, open beta since May 2026. Needs a Unity Cloud link and the Unity AI trial or subscription; Unity says the MCP itself uses no credits. | Scene and hierarchy, scripts, console, GameObject inspect and set, build settings, custom C# tools. | First-party and inside the editor, with a one-time accept prompt. | Unity blog |
| CoplayDev/unity-mcp Community, MIT | Free. Needs Python 3.10+ through uv. Install from a UPM git URL or OpenUPM. | About 50 tools in groups (VFX, animation, UI, testing), Roslyn script validation, multi-instance routing. 15.6k GitHub stars, v10.3.0 on 4 Oct 2026. | More Unity depth: VFX, UI and script validation. Active monthly releases. | GitHub |
| Blender MCP (ahujasid) Community | Free. One-line install with uvx or a script. Its README says the socket has no authentication and offers a safe-mode switch. | 9 tools: run Python, look for visual feedback, scene info, 3D generation through Tripo, Hunyuan3D, Rodin or Meshy, and Poly Haven and Sketchfab search and import. 32.8k GitHub stars. | Asset search and import, 3D generation and a richer visual look tool. Synagy’s Blender add-on runs Python, outlines the scene and renders a picture. | GitHub |
| Synagy MCP Synagy | Free. Needs Node.js. Unity asks you to sign in once with a free Synagy account; Roblox Studio and Blender ask for a one-time click on a notice. | 35 tools for Unity, Roblox Studio and Blender (Unreal is a preview). Atomic batches of up to 500 Unity or 1,000 Roblox operations as one undo step, terrain, script sync to files, a backdoor scan on Roblox inserts, a profiler for Unity. | One server for three editors, no Unity Cloud login. It trails on generation, input simulation and Unity depth packs. | This page |
Is it safe to connect an agent to my game?
An agent with these tools is powerful, so connect only agents you trust. What you should know:
- It really changes your project. Your agent can create, change and delete files and objects, and run code in the editor with the same rights as your user account. Make a backup or use version control first, as our terms ask, and check changes before you keep or publish them.
- Undo helps, a backup is safer. Unity and Roblox batches land as one undo step, and a batch that fails rolls back. Roblox inserts from the Creator Store get a backdoor scan.
- The editor link stays on your computer. The hub listens on
127.0.0.1only, rejects browser requests and other host names, and needs a token file that only your user can read. The plugins accept jobs only from a hub that proves it holds the same key. - You confirm once in the editor. Each plugin shows a notice on first start. Until you click through it, the tools stay locked.
- Tool output can contain text from the outside, such as console lines or script text from a model you inserted. Treat it as data, and do not let an agent run code it merely read.
- Beta, no warranty. As far as the law allows, we give no guarantee that generated changes work. See section 5b of the terms.
Use Synagy from ChatGPT or Claude
Add Synagy as a connector to the AI you already use and ask it for a 3D tree, a sprite sheet, a sound or a whole game. Synagy makes it and shows the result in the chat. You sign in once with your Synagy account.
This costs Synagy credits, shown before it builds, and a part that fails is free. Your AI provider bills the thinking separately. Right now Synagy is a free beta and every account gets 25 free credits a day; see pricing. The connector does not edit your Unity or Roblox project; that is the local server above.

What is the Synagy MCP server?
A free program that lets an AI agent you already use, such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor, work inside Unity, Roblox Studio and Blender on your computer. The agent runs code, edits scripts, reads the console, takes screenshots and runs playtests through 35 tools.
Does the MCP server cost credits?
No. The server and the editor plugins are free, and your own agent does the thinking at your AI provider. Synagy credits are only used when you ask Synagy’s own cloud agent to build, or when you generate with the remote connector. You see a price first.
Which agents work with it?
Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Antigravity and Hermes have copy-paste setup on this page. Any other agent that can start a local MCP server over stdio works too. Minecraft is not supported through MCP; it uses the Synagy app and the chat inside the game.
Does my agent need an internet connection to my project?
No. The server runs on your computer and talks to the editor plugin over 127.0.0.1, so your project stays on your machine. Your agent’s own AI provider still receives whatever the agent sends it, as with any coding agent.
Can the agent break my project?
Yes, it can change and delete files and objects and run code with your user rights, as the terms describe. Make a backup or use version control first. Roblox and Unity batches are one undo step, but undo is not a backup.
What is the difference between this and the Synagy window in the editor?
The Synagy window inside Unity or Roblox Studio is Synagy’s own cloud agent. It plans with a price in credits and builds for you. The MCP server is for your own agent instead. You can use either one, or both, in the same project.
How is it different from the Roblox built-in MCP or Unity AI MCP?
Those are the engine makers’ own servers and are a good choice if you only use one engine. Synagy’s one server covers Unity, Roblox Studio and Blender with atomic batches and no Unity Cloud login. The table on this page lists what each does, with sources.
Can I use Synagy from ChatGPT or Claude without installing anything?
Yes, with the remote connector at api.synagy.org/mcp. You sign in with your Synagy account and ask for 3D models, sprites, sounds or whole games. This uses Synagy credits, shown before it builds. It does not touch your Unity or Roblox project.
Unity, Roblox and Blender are trademarks of their owners. Synagy is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
